IP for SMEs in Latin America – IP Key LA successfully completes its cycle of webinars in 2020

SMEs account for 99 % of all businesses in the European Union and Latin America. They are a key economic sector in both economies. According to the EUIPO and the OECD, in the last 8 years SMEs have created about 85 % of net new jobs and provided around two thirds of the total private sector employment in the EU. In Latin America, SMEs account for 67 % of employment.

IP Key LA, aware of the need for more IP-related information directed to this key economic sector, collaborated with the Latin America IP SME Helpdesk to produce a set of country-focused webinars for EU SMEs to increase awareness of the benefits of IPRs for their business.

Dozens of participants, from both the EU and Latin America, with interest in the markets and IP landscapes of Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Mexico, learned about the importance of IP registration and protection, and its particular benefits for SMEs.

For those interested in seeing the webinars, and increasing their knowledge of these markets, training is available at GENERAL IP KNOWLEDGE
