IP Key Latin America held this edition of its roving seminar for SMEs, focused on the Andean countries, as a follow-up to the editions that took place in Mexico and Central America and Chile and Mercosur.

These events, that gathered European and local SMEs, emphasized the dissemination of best practices in the use of Intellectual Property assets for the development of businesses, as well as the dissemination of the mechanisms for the use and protection of IP rights available to them. National and international experts also presented numerical data that demonstrated the scope of IP in the different industries and the impact of identifying and protecting IP assets in the growth and expansion of SMEs.

Pedro Duarte, leader of the IP Key Latin America project, highlighted the importance of IP as a tool to protect innovation and creativity of SMEs, highlighting the most recent studies that confirm the added value for SMEs that do protect their intellectual property.
