Exchanges on IP Matters with CNIPA Concluded in Europe

In recent years, China has implemented numerous legislative updates regarding trademarks and patents, including the 2023 Exposure Draft of the Trademark Law, the Implementing Rules of the Patent Law, and the Revised Patent Examination Guidelines introduced in January 2024. In light of these developments, IP Key China and the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) co-organised a delegation of CNIPA experts for a mission to Europe on 11-14 June 2024.

In collaboration with the European Patent Office (EPO) and the Directorate-General for Trade (DG Trade), two seminars were held as part of this mission, in Munich on 12 June 2024 and in Brussels on 14 June 2024. During the seminars, CNIPA experts provided insights into the latest legislative developments in patents and trademarks. Discussions focused on recent legislative advancements and challenges, and Chinese experts addressed specific questions from rights holders.
