2021 Plant Variety Rights Online Technical Training

IP Key China, in partnership with the Community Plant Variety Office (CPVO), the Development Center of Science and Technology of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (DCST, MARA) and the Plant Variety Right Protection Office of the National Forestry and Grassland Administration (PVPO, NFGA) of China, has organised the 2021 edition of the Plant Variety Rights Technical Training Course.

The course took place online from 3-5 November 2021, and enabled more than 100 Chinese officials from many different regions to participate.

The CPVO and the entrusted examination offices from France, Germany, the Netherlands and Spain conducted sessions on topics related to the distinctness, uniformity and stability (DUS) testing process, focusing either on the introduction of a more horizontal approach or on the EU’s experience with testing specific crops, such as melon, tomato, rhododendron and chrysanthemum.
