IP Key LA participated in the sixth phase of Operation 404

IP Key LA was present in the sixth phase of Operation 404, an international action against piracy aimed at suppressing crimes committed against intellectual property on the internet.

The action is part of an internationally integrated mobilization coordinated by the Ministry of Justice and Public Security (National Secretariat of Public Security of Brazil), the Civil Police of Brazil, and Law Enforcement Agencies from the United Kingdom, Peru, the United States, and Argentina.

Sub-regional seminar on the Enforcement of IP Rights for Police Investigators and Prosecutors

The activity consisted on a 3-day seminar in Asuncion, Paraguay, and gathered over 30 international guests from several organizations specializing in intellectual property and observance. Likewise, the event counted with the presence of 15 prosecutors and police investigators from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, and Uruguay. The workshop was held through November 14 to 16, 2023.

The European Parliament Approve New Rules to Protect Craft Products

The European Parliament has given its strong endorsement to new European Union (EU) regulations aimed at preserving the geographical indications (GIs) of craft and industrial products, following the example of existing rules for agricultural products. The new rules extend protection to prominent non-food products such as lace, glass, natural stones, jewelry, and porcelain throughout the EU and globally.

Visita a España de las oficinas de propiedad intelectual de colombia, Perú y Chile

Con el objetivo de apoyar a Perú, Colombia y Chile en sus preparativos para la posible adhesión al Protocolo de Madrid (en el caso de Perú) y al Sistema de La Haya, representantes de dichos países visitaron la Oficina de Propiedad Intelectual de la Unión Europea (EUIPO - Alicante) y la Oficina Española de Patentes y Marcas (OEPM) entre el 18 y 22 de septiembre. La visita fue organizada por el proyecto IP Key América Latina, financiado por la Unión Europea. La Organización Mundial de la Propiedad Intelectual (OMPI) también colaboró en esta iniciativa.
