IP Key LA and IMPI launch first economic impact study in Mexico

IP Key LA and the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property (IMPI) are proud to announce the presentation of the first IP Economic Impact Study in Latin America. This study focuses on the Mexican economy and is the result of a long and detailed investigation carried out over several months.

This economic impact study reflects the importance IP-intensive industries have on the Mexican economy, focusing on four different areas: contribution to the GDP, direct and indirect employment, average salaries and international trade participation. This study considers four types of intellectual property rights: trade marks, industrial designs, patents and geographical indications.

IP Key LA will be joined by the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property and the EU Delegation in Mexico on 3 March to present the study’s most relevant findings.
