Technical Workshop on Common Tools and Practices Developed by the European Network of Trade Marks and Designs

EUIPO and IP Key LA organized this week-long technical workshop in Costa Rica as a follow-up to the workshops that took place in Cuba in December 2017, Costa Rica in June 2018 on search and classification tools and Lima in November 2018 on quality and productivity tools.

The workshop’s format included slots dedicated to facilitating the extension of the tools developed, according to the specific interests of each of the participating IPOs, enhancing the exchange of knowledge and experiences through sessions with a practical and technical approach.

The Technical Workshop on common tools and practices developed by the EUIPN allowed IT expert from the IP Offices of Costa Rica, Cuba, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic to explore and use the IP tools and databases developed in EUIPO.

Some of these tools have already been integrated in the practices of IPOs, such as INDECOPI Peru which presented its experience and reported benefits (both for their internal processes and right holder services) in the Workshop. The IPOs were highly interested in learning more about the tools and eventually integrate them into their trade mark and design management systems.
