EU-China Customs Cooperation on IPR Enforcement - 4th Working Group Meeting
In the context of the EU-China Action Plan (2014-2017) on IPR Customs Enforcement, IP Key co-organised (together with DG TAXUD and GACC) the 4th Working Group (WG) Meeting in Ningbo, China, from May 24 to 26, 2016. The Action Plan sets out five Key Actions (KAs) to strengthen customs enforcement in the fight against the trade in IPR infringing goods.
The WG meeting gathered together representatives from European Commission services (DG TAXUD and OLAF), GACC, MPS, Customs officers from EU member states, local Customs participating to the KA1 risk analysis exercise and the KA2 network (seaports and airports in the EU and in China) and EU Customs attachés in China.
The WG meeting addressed in particular the results of pilots relating to risk assessment and their next steps, as well as the way forward for facilitating, from an operational perspective, the inter-agency cooperation on major IPR infringement cases between customs and the other law enforcements authorities in the EU and China.
