IP Café -- Protecting Intellectual Assets: Trade Secrets in China's Evolving Legal Landscape

Trade secrets play a critical role for maintaining a competitive edge of businesses by protecting valuable confidential information. In China, significant legal reforms, such as the 2019 amendments to the Anti-Unfair Competition Law (AUCL), have enhanced the protection of trade secrets. Despite these advancements, challenges remain, particularly in enforcement and judicial consistency.

The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), in the context of the EU-funded project IP Key China organises periodic IP Cafés - a series of open and interactive discussions on current intellectual property issues affecting the development of intellectual property law in China and Europe, aiming to foster an environment where participants can engage in meaningful discussions and exchange insights.

IP Key China project, in collaboration with the Intellectual Property Publishing House (IPPH) under the National Intellectual Property Administration of China (CNIPA), is to co-host the “IP Café -- Protecting Intellectual Assets: Trade Secrets in China's Evolving Legal Landscape” on the afternoon of 16 October 2024.  Academics and key experts from Europe and China will gather to exchange views and share their perspectives on this topic.
