Working Group Meetings in the framework of the EU-China Action Plan on customs enforcement of IPR

In order to strengthen customs enforcement to combat counterfeiting and piracy in EU-China trade, both parties have since 2009 an Action Plan concerning customs cooperation on IPR.  In this context, the EU and China have taken concrete steps to develop closer cooperation to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of IPR enforcement.

Under the third and current Action Plan covering 2018-2020, IP Key China has organised numerous fruitful working group and stakeholders meetings combined with study visits both in China and Europe. These working group meetings aim at supporting practical cooperation on IPR enforcement between authorities at the local level in the EU and China.

In 2020, the EU-China IPR Customs Working Group meetings are taking place virtually to cover topics, such as the importance of jointly analysis on the statistics of the enforcement cooperation. Since the current Action Plan is coming to an end, it is time to evaluate the work done in the past and prepare the next Action Plan. IP Key China is now supporting the Directorate-General for Taxation and Customs Union, and the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China on this.
