The EUIPO publishes the fourth and final annual work plan for IP Key SEA Phase II

The EUIPO will continue to lead the implementation of the second phase of IP Key South-East Asia (IP Key SEA) until the end of 2025, following a project extension approved by the European Commission, in the context of the EUIPO's commitment to sharing best practices with its partners worldwide, including IP officials and professionals in South-East Asia.

As a leading implementing agency of IPR projects, the EUIPO remains committed to promoting robust intellectual property systems that drive economic growth and sustainable development, with IP Key SEA being a key example of the EUIPO's leadership in international cooperation projects on intellectual property (IP) rights.

The Annual Work Plan 4 – 2025 of IP Key SEA II, developed by the EUIPO, includes 14 activities designed to strengthen cooperation on IP protection and enforcement across various fields, including trade marks, industrial designs, geographical indications (GIs) and plant variety protection, with the EUIPO's expertise in these areas being instrumental in supporting the project's objectives.

Additionally, the EUIPO will launch social media campaigns to raise public awareness of IP rights and the risks associated with IP-infringing goods and services, as part of its efforts to promote a customer-oriented approach and ensure a business environment more akin to that EU businesses find in Europe.

The project team, led by the EUIPO, will launch its first activity in May with an event focused on promoting GI protection and marketing, building on the EUIPO's role as an international registration authority for GIs and its cooperation with the European Commission (DG AGRI).

The final event in November will assess progress in IP regulation and standards across South-East Asia and explore future developments in regional IP protection, with the EUIPO's Observatory on Infringements and its expertise in IP enforcement being critical in supporting the project's goals.
