Webinars on protection of trademarks and prevention of bad faith registrations in the SEA region

On 23, 25 and 29 June 2020, IP Key SEA organised a series of webinars on trade marks targeting trade mark experts, legal officers and businesses in the SEA region to discuss the new developments in non-traditional or new types of trade marks in a fast moving digital world and how these marks are assessed by IP Offices.

The protection of well-known marks and prevention of bad faith registrations are among the most pressing issues that are faced by trade mark authorities and trade mark owners not only in the EU, but more especially in the SEA countries where EU trade mark owners are engaged in business and need improved trade mark protection.

The main target participants were Indonesia and Viet Nam, but other SEA countries such  as Brunei Darussalam, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand participated in the event.
