IP Key China, in cooperation with the Community Plant Variety Office (CPVO), the International Union for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants (UPOV), the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MARA), and the National Forestry and Grassland Administration (NGFA), is co-organising a study visit in various places in Europe focused on Plant Variety Protection (PVP) legislative matters.

2024 (7th) EU-China Conference on IPR Protection Online & Innovation held in Shanghai

Exchanges on IP Matters with CNIPA Concluded in Europe

In recent years, China has implemented numerous legislative updates regarding trademarks and patents, including the 2023 Exposure Draft of the Trademark Law, the Implementing Rules of the Patent Law, and the Revised Patent Examination Guidelines introduced in January 2024. In light of these developments, IP Key China and the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) co-organised a delegation of CNIPA experts for a mission to Europe on 11-14 June 2024.

IP Key China Stakeholders Meeting held in Beijing

In the IP Key China stakeholders’ meeting that took place on 18 April, representatives from Chinese government agencies, EU institutions and embassies, academics, industry leaders, IP experts as well as other key stakeholders came together to discuss the significance of international cooperation ion intellectual property (IP) matters.

The meeting featured two insightful panels on ‘An Open and Concerted Approach to Strengthen the IP Landscape’ and ‘How to address the existing and forthcoming challenges of e-commerce’.
