IP Key LA presents its 2023 Annual Work Plan

The IP Key LA programme presents its 2023 activity plan. The plan envisages implementing, with the constant support of the European Union Intellectual Property Office, 21 activities. The activities will continue to promote socioeconomic development in 16 Latin American countries by disseminating and advising on the best EU intellectual property practices and standards.

Webinar for prosecutors and agents specialised in Intellectual Property

IP Key Latin America co-organised the ‘Webinar for prosecutors and agents specialised in Intellectual Property’ (4 May 2023), together with the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), the Intellectual Property Crime Investigation Brigade (BRIDEPI - part of the Chilean Investigative Police) and the National Chilean Prosecutor's Office.

Enforcement week - Seminar for judges

In an effort to strengthen the enforcement of intellectual property rights (IPR) in Latin America, the European Union (EU) participated in a two-day seminar held on 6-7 July 2023 in Brazil. Organised in Rio de Janeiro, this event helped to improve judicial procedures and the interpretation of intellectual property laws, ultimately raising the standards of enforcement of intellectual property rights in the region.

Enforcement week – Seminar on border enforcement in MERCOSUR

A seminar dedicated to improving the protection and enforcement of intellectual property (IP) in Latin America took place in the Tri-Border region of Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay. As part of Enforcement Week, this event aimed to address the prevailing challenges facing Latin American countries in the fight against piracy and counterfeiting. By providing comprehensive training to customs officers and fostering cross-border cooperation, the seminar helped to create awareness on the capacity of law enforcement agencies by using practices with EU standards.
