23rd EU-China IP Working Group Meeting

23rd EU-China IP Working Group Meeting

The 23rd meeting of the EU-China IP Working Group was held on 14 January at the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China (MOFCOM) in Beijing. Established in 2005 at the EU-China Summit, the group was set up to support the EU-China IP Dialogue. This year’s session was followed by exchanges with industry in the form of workshops held in Beijing and Shanghai, co-chaired by DG Trade and MOFCOM, and supported by IP Key China.

The EU-China IP Dialogue is a structured political exchange between the European Union and China on IP, reinforced by regular IP Working Group meetings, which brings together officials from a range of agencies and ministries in the area of IP protection, EU experts and representatives of industry. These working-level meetings allow the Chinese policymakers and industry experts to communicate directly with each other and discuss IP issues in depth.
