IP Café on Geographical Indications
The Agreement between the European Union and the Government of the People’s Republic of China on cooperation on, and protection of, geographical indications (GIs) entered into force on 1 March 2021, which demonstrates the EU and China’s strong determination to protect the interests of GI rights holders.
Following the previous GIs seminars and training courses in 2021, IP Key China, will partner with its Chinese stakeholders to organise an IP Café on geographical indications protection in early November, inviting stakeholders from academia, research institutions, government and business to further discuss the EU-China GIs agreement and good practices of GIs protection from diversified perspectives.
IP Key China, directed by the European Commission and implemented by the EUIPO, is committed to deliver professional resources and platforms for knowledge sharing and awareness raising on geographical indications.
