Esta atividade, organizada por IP Key América Latina com o apoio da EUIPO, institutos de PI na América Latina e ASIPI, é uma continuação dos workshops realizados em San Jose, Costa Rica, em junho de 2018, e Quito, equador, em junho de 2019 -focados em ferramentas de pesquisa e classificação-, e em Lima, Peru em novembro de 2018 e San José , Costa Rica em julho de 2019 -para ferramentas de classificação e produtividade-.
EUIPO is setting up a list of economic operators interested in providing independent and hands-on expertise to foster IP cooperation and increase effective awareness in the field of intellectual property rights in both EU and non-EU countries.
Due to the current pandemic, an online workshop dedicated to trade marks has been organised by IP key LA, in collaboration with CarIPI. The target group comprises officials, in particular trade mark examiners from the national IP offices of Central America, Mexico and the Dominican Republic.
The overall objective is to promote the adoption of EU standards in examination, protection and enforcement of trade marks, in particular as regards the prevention of bad faith registrations and the registration of non-traditional trademarks.
O projeto europeu apresentou detalhes de sua estrutura e atividades na América Latina, virtualmente, aos alunos do Mestrado em IP e Inovação oferecido pela Universidade de San Andrés, na Argentina.
On 27 May, IP Key LA participated in an online seminar, organised by WIPO and the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property (IMPI). The activity "Systems of Madrid and The Hague in Mexico" convened national and international experts to discuss the uses, benefits and experiences with both systems.
Considering the current circumstances around the globe, and particularly in the Latin American Region, IP Key LA has established contact with local IPOs to gather information about the procedures still available for users. Durante a contingência atual, um workshop oficina virtual foi organizado com EPO, para fornecer treinamento sobre a prática de exames da EPO no campo da biotecnologia, para examinadores selecionados de nove institutos de PI: INPI Argentina, INPI Brasil, INDECOPI Peru, SIC Colômbia, DNPI Uruguai, SENADI Equador, INAPI Chile, DINAPI Paraguai e SENAPI Bolívia.
As a result of the joint efforts of the National Directorate of Industrial Property under the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mining of Uruguay (DNPI), the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and the EU-funded project IP Key Latin America (IP KEY LA), a Practice Paper concerning the examination of absolute grounds for refusal as regards figurative trade marks with purely descriptive words/expressions has been produced.
As MPEs representam 99 % de todas as empresas da União Europeia e da América Latina. Eles são um elemento-chave de ambas as economias. De acordo com a EUIPO e a OCDE, nos últimos 8 anos, as MPEs criaram cerca de 85 % dos novos empregos líquidos e forneceram cerca de dois terços do total de empregos do setor privado na UE. Na América Latina, as MPEs respondem por 67 % do emprego.
