New client services to be considered in forum with Southeast Asian IP offices

The directors-general and other senior officials from the Southeast Asian IP offices attended a forum in Geneva on 26 September with EUIPO and IP Key SEA representatives to discuss the upgrading of services offered to clients operating in Southeast Asia. The activity aimed to improve the IP environment for businesses operating in the region through quality standards and new technologies in the national IP offices. 

Key topics at the forum included new service priorities from each of the Southeast Asian IP offices, strategies for implementing new services, demonstration of various IP tools and databases developed by the EUIPO, and the key priorities expressed by EU industry. The current capacity building needs and partnership opportunities between the SEA IP offices and the IP Key SEA programme was also discussed.

The forum coincides with the 58th Assemblies of the Member States of WIPO being held in Geneva on 24 September – 2 October.
