Workshop on patents examination: pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and bioinformatic

The activity consists of a 2-day workshop for patent examiners in LA IPOs, aimed at equipping examiners with the skills and knowledge necessary to effectively evaluate patent applications for pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, as well as bioinformatics inventions implemented by computer.

The first day will be dedicated to the pharmaceuticals and biotechnology field. The second day will be dedicated to analysing bioinformatic inventions implemented by computer (technological developments that combine biology and informatics to solve problems related to biology, genetics, genomics, and other related fields. These inventions typically use algorithms and computer software to analyse and process large sets of biological data with the aim of obtaining relevant information and making data-driven decisions).

The training sessions will be carried out under the guidance of EPO trainers, supplemented by contributions from experts of local IPOs.
