The 10th China Intellectual Property Annual Conference (CIPAC) takes place on 2-3 September in Hangzhou. Directed by the National Intellectual Property Administration of China (CNIPA) and organised by the Intellectual Property Publishing House (IPPH), CIPAC is the largest and most influential IP conference in China.  IP Key China Project Leader, Benoit MISONNE delivers his intervention at the session of “Intellectual Property Empowers Regional Economic Integration” on the importance of regional and international IP cooperation to ensure sustainable competitiveness.

The legal framework for protecting digital works is trying to keep up with an environment that has been reshaped by changes to consumer habits, online platforms and the entertainment industry at large.

Against this backdrop, IP Key co-hosted the “EU-China Roundtable on Copyright Protection and Licensing in the Digital Environment” with the National Copyright Administration of China (NCAC) that took place on 24-25 September at the Courtyard By Marriott Shanghai Pudong . Some of the topics that were covered:

IP Key LA organized three events in which the challenges of intellectual property rights (IPR) infringements in the digital environment were analyzed. In addition, judges and customs officers were trained to identify current trends in counterfeiting and piracy. Finally, national and international experts discussed the economic impact caused by violations of IP regulations, introduced best practices and possible advances, and emphasized the need of working together and in a coordinated manner.

The Green Expo is the Latin American event that presents cutting-edge sustainable solutions and technologies for all industries and aims to bring together, in the framework of an exchange of knowledge and business, all industrial sectors interested in the development of a Circular Economy with Zero Waste. And, as part of its 2019 edition, it has convened IP Key Latin America to develop a seminar focused specifically on Intellectual Property and Green Technologies.

Held in Rio de Janeiro on August 15, the event brought together expert lawyers from Europe and Latin America who agreed that enforcing intellectual property (IP) laws in the digital environment is a major challenge for authorities and business right-owners.
