EUIPO organise Roundtable on Copyright Protection in the Digital Environment in China
The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), in collaboration with the National Copyright Administration of China (NCAC), will co-host a Roundtable on Copyright Protection in the Digital Environment in Xi’an, China on 19-20 November, 2024. With the organisation of this event, the EUIPO, in the context of the EU-funded project IP Key China, aims to bring together key stakeholders from both the private and public sectors to discuss recent developments in copyright legislation in the EU and China, as well as emerging global issues in copyright practices and online protection.
This roundtable reflects the ongoing cooperation between the EU and China in copyright protection, addressing the complex challenges posed by the digital environment. By fostering dialogue on legislative advancements, global issues, and best practices for online copyright protection, the collaboration not only enhances mutual understanding but also lays the foundation for future joint efforts to promote effective copyright enforcement and innovation in both regions.
The EUIPO hosts pan-European copyright databases and portals, including the Agorateka portal which helps to identify legal content online. As well as the Orphan works database and the Out-of-commerce works portal, which provide for a single online point to discover books, photos, films and much more from the cultural heritage institutions.
The EUIPO, as implementing agency of the EU-funded IP cooperation project IP Key China, will continue to organise similar events in the region for the benefit of users.
