Artificial Intelligence and Intellectual Property: IP and the 4.0 Industry

IP Key LA carried out its first activity on ‘Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Intellectual Property: Challenges and Opportunities for Europe and Latin America’. The two-part activity involved Intellectual Property Offices (IPOs) of Latin America countries.

The first part was intended for the heads of the IPOs in the region and focused on AI, its development and its impact on intellectual property. It covered the AI strategies of different IPOs in Europe and Latin America. It also promoted the exchange of experiences on the challenges and opportunities that AI presents for improving the administration, governance, and policy of protection of intellectual property rights (IPRs) in the region.

In the second part, directors and technical officials participated in a workshop dedicated to the use of different tools developed using AI to improve efficiency and management in the administration of IPRs. It also addressed the impact of this technology on the policy of IPR protection.
