Fact-finding mission to the Andean Region

During this third visit to the region, the IP Key project delegation met with some 50 stakeholders in 20 different meetings across major countries of the Andean region, where activities pertaining to areas of mutual interest (up to 40) were identified.

Specifically the project delegation visited the headquarters of the Andean Community (CAN) and met with its Secretary General. The project was also presented during a session of the IP Dialogue regarding the Association Agreement between the EU and its FTA partners in the region.

Monday 20 November – Peru – Lima

Tuesday 21 November – Peru – Lima

• Meeting with the CAN Ambassador
• Meeting with the Ministry of Justice / Director for Transparency
• Presentation of the Project to the IP Subcommittee

Monday 27 November – Colombia – Bogota

• Meeting with the EU Delegation to Colombia
• Joint-meeting with the Superintendency of Industry and Commerce (SIC) and the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism (MinCIT)
• Meeting with the DNDA (National Copyright Directorate)

Tuesday 28 November – Colombia – Bogota

• Joint-meeting with the IP officers of EU member states, the EU chambers of commerce and EU industry
• Meeting with the trade officer of the US Embassy

Wednesday 29 November – Ecuador – Quito

• Meeting with the EU Delegation to Ecuador
• Meeting with the EU Member states (Trade Officials of EU Embassies)
• Meeting with the US Embassy (Commerce attaché and Economic Advisor)
• Meeting with EU chambers of commerce (FR, IT and ES)

Thursday 30 November – Ecuador – Quito

• Meeting with the IEPI (Ecuadorian Institute for Intellectual Property)
• Meeting with the Ministry of Commerce / Foreign Trade
• Meeting with the Chamber of Commerce of Quito
• Meeting with the Ambassador at the EU Delegation to Ecuador
