Seminar ‘Fighting Intellectual Property Rights Infringements in the Andean Community’
The seminar ‘’Fighting Intellectual Property Rights Violations in the Andean Community‘’ took place, with great success, on 15-16 May 2024 at the Externado University of Colombia.
The event brought together judges, prosecutors and officials from intellectual property offices from across the region to discuss strategies for combating IPR violations. The programme included panel discussions, expert presentations and networking opportunities among the guests.
Also during the welcoming remarks, the signing ceremony of an agreement between the Community Plant Variety Office of the European Union and the Externado University of Colombia was presented, which seeks to foster collaborative activities in training, research and institutional development related to plant varieties. It was explained how this four-year agreement will support the dissemination of knowledge, the organisation of events, the promotion of public policies, the development of social innovation initiatives and the improvement of the plant variety protection system.
This seminar was part of the “Bogota Innovation Week”, which also included the International Collaboration Event on Plant Variety Protection, the 45th Anniversary of the Court of Justice of the Andean Community and the Conversatory ‘Community Trademarks: European Union - Andean Community?
