Sub-regional Seminar on the Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights

With more than 60 customs officials, police investigators and prosecutors from Central America and Mexico, this seminar took place from 22-24 July in San José, Costa Rica.

It was jointly organised by IP Key Latin America, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), the Japan Patent Office (JPO) and the National Intellectual Property Registry of Costa Rica.

The seminar was divided into four parts and focused in particular on:

• Prosecution of IP crime
• Investigation of IP crimes
• Enforcement of Intellectual Property at the Border
• Exposure of Right Holders
