IP Key LA presents the Annual Work Plan 2024
IP Key LA and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) have unveiled the Annual Work Plan for 2024. This strategic plan seeks to strengthen collaboration in intellectual property (IP) between the European Union and Latin America.
Scheduled from 1 January to 31 December 2024, the Annual Work Plan (AWP3-2024) comprises 22 activities that strategically designed to impact key IPR areas.
Key focus areas include trade marks, industrial designs, enforcement activities, geographical indications, plant varieties, copyright, and patents. The plan allocates resources for online activities, hybrid events, and comprehensive studies to enhance their overall impact and reach.
Notably, the development of AWP3-2024 involved extensive consultations with relevant stakeholders from Latin America and the EU, incorporating insights and lesson learnt from previous years. This collaborative approach emphasises follow-up actions, with an eye on increasing awareness and engagement with national IP authorities.
For 2024, IP Key LA prioritises closer collaboration with national IP authorities and the establishment of platforms for cooperation against IP crime. The AWP3-2024 has a forward-looking and collaborative strategy. It sets the stage for an impactful year in advancing IP across Latin America.
