IP Key LA, the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property (IMPI), the Council of the Federal Judiciary, the General Administration of Customs and the Delegation of the European Union to Mexico co-organized, three events to promote the exchange of experiences, trends and best practices in the application of IP regulations, with emphasis on piracy and counterfeiting. The IP Enforcement Week took place during the week of November 12 to 16 in Mexico City.

IP Key LA and the Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio (SIC) of Colombia organized a Regional Workshop on Trade Marks and Designs Examination Guidelines, with the collaboration of the Andean Secretariat and in the context of IP Key’s cooperation with PROSUR. The goal was to promote connectable discussions with regard to offices’ practices in different trade mark and industrial design registration processes.

On the margins of the Academic Forum, an IP Café dedicated to the Legal Protection of AI-generated Works sparked stimulating discussions on how the IP legal framework shall adapt to an area where distinguishing between human and computer created works are increasingly challenging. The benefits to farmers, plant breeders, and to the economic development of membership of countries to the International Convention for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants (UPOV Convention) were discussed with officials from Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Viet Nam at an IP Key SEA conference in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, on 8-9 November.
