The EU continues support to IP cooperation in China through IP Key project

The IP Key China Stakeholders Meeting was held on 19 April 2023. The event brought together over 80 online and onsite participants from EU institutions, Chinese government authorities, representatives from EU Member States, academics from EU and Chinese IP faculties as well as a diverse range of industries.

Seminar on the latest developments in trade marks in Guangzhou, China

The Seminar on the Latest Developments in Trade Marks was successfully held in Guangzhou, China, on 5 May 2023. This seminar was co-hosted by IP Key China and the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) and supported by the Guangdong Intellectual Property Administration, Guangdong Intellectual Property Protection Centre and Guangzhou Trademark Examination Cooperation Centre and Guangzhou Intellectual Property Administration.

IP Key China Stakeholders’ Meeting to be held in Beijing in April

IP Key China’s upcoming Stakeholders’ Meeting will be held in Beijing, China on 19 April 2023. The meeting is set to bring together representatives from the EU Member States, the EU institutions, officials of Chinese government authorities, IP rights professionals from the EU and China, academia and a diverse range of industries. The event will provide a platform for attendees to understand the continuous EU-China IP rights technical cooperation, network and seek out potential opportunities for further cooperation.

The first IP Key Labs had more than 500 participants

On 9 March, ‘The Metaverse and Intellectual Property’ webinar was presented live, the first webinar of the pilot programme to be implemented during 2023 by IP Key Latin America. The main topics presented, which focused on current practices in the metaverse, were copyright and trade mark issues and demands for intellectual property infringements.

Brazil adheres to the Hague System

On February 13 was published that Brazil has joined the Hague System for International registration of designs. The Brazilian government deposited its instrument of adhesion to the 1999 Geneva Act of The Hague Agreement at WIPO on the last week of December 2022, after approval by Brazilian Congress.
