The online market is influential in terms of expanding the presence of geographical indications in international markets. While it represents a great opportunity it also brings important challenges in terms of protecting, controlling and enforcing GI rights.
In this context, on 2 December IP Key China is organising a webinar on the protection of geographical indications in the online market in cooperation with the Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development (DG AGRI) and the China Anti-infringement and Anti-counterfeiting Innovation Strategic Alliance (CAASA).
The webinar aims to facilitate a knowledge exchange between stakeholders involved in the e-commerce of GIs in China. It will raise awareness of the GI legal framework and the recently signed EU-China bilateral agreement, and will provide online retailers with a platform where they can address their concerns and seek practical solutions through exchanges with EU experts and GI representatives.
Participants will be able to join the webinar with prior registration. The registration link and the agenda will be updated soon on this page.
