IP Key LA concludes its Annual Work Plan 2023 with great success

The Annual Work Plan 2023 of the IP Key Programme in Latin America has successfully concluded, highlighting a series of 21 strategic activities. From January to December, IP Key LA has led crucial initiatives that strengthen the dissemination of intellectual property protection in the region.

Among the most notable events is the participation of the European Union as the Guest of Honour at the Guadalajara International Book Fair, emphasizing the importance of IP in the literary world. Additionally, the programme has supported the modernisation of the Intellectual Property Law in El Salvador and conducted itinerant seminars on the relevance of IP rights for businesses.

In specific areas such as Geographical Indications, Plant Varieties, Patents, Trademarks and Designs, as well as Enforcement and Copyrights, IP Key LA has conducted a series of workshops, webinars and regional events in collaboration with experts from around the world. These events have contributed to strengthening the understanding and effective application of IP laws in different sectors and countries.

The innovative approach has been reflected in the adoption of new technologies, such as teleconferences and video conferences, allowing subregional coverage of most activities. This has significantly expanded the scope and participation in these key initiatives.

The impact of IP Key LA in the region has been evident through the creation of new activities, such as IP Key Labs, with significant added value, laying the groundwork for future actions in the field. This year has witnessed the project's continued commitment to strengthen and promote the importance of protecting these rights, based on current best practices and success stories.

Additionally, as an integral part of its innovative approach, IP Key Labs has been a catalyst for change by fostering collaboration and capacity development in the region. Through its interactive and collaborative platform, it has provided a space for experimentation and practical learning, empowering professionals in the field of IP and promoting a more robust ecosystem conscious of the importance of its protection.
