EUIPO Organises Advanced Training for DGIP and MyIPO Senior Patent Examiners in collaboration with EPO
The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) organised an Advanced Training Programme on Patent Search and Examination of Computer-Implemented Inventions (CII) in collaboration with the European Patent Office (EPO). The programme, which was organised in the context of the IP Key South-East Asia Project and took place from 7 to 11 October 2024, followed a ‘train-the-trainer’ approach and involved 20 senior patent examiners from Indonesia’s Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DGIP) and the Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (MyIPO).
The EUIPO organised the ‘International Seminar Alternative Dispute Resolution Methods in Copyright and Related Rights’ in Bogotá.

EUIPO organise Roundtable on Copyright Protection in the Digital Environment in China
The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), in collaboration with the National Copyright Administration of China (NCAC), will co-host a Roundtable on Copyright Protection in the Digital Environment in Xi’an, China on 19-20 November, 2024. With the organisation of this event, the EUIPO, in the context of the EU-funded project IP Key China, aims to bring together key stakeholders from both the private and public sectors to discuss recent developments in copyright legislation in the EU and China, as well as emerging global issues in copyright practices and online protection.
Discovering European Heritage through Geographical Indications
The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), responsible for craft and industrial geographical indications (GIs) in the EU and an international registration authority for GIs, has been actively involved in the legal aspects of GIs since 2018 and maintains GIview, the most comprehensive searchable database for GIs, which will soon include craft and industrial products.
Over 70 EU and Thai GIs showcased in Bangkok
The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) is an international GI registration authority and leads the EU’s international cooperation on intellectual property rights, including geographical indications. The EUIPO was recently entrusted with managing the registration of craft and industrial GIs at EU level, the first applications can be filed from 1 December 2025 on. In addition, the EUIPO has developed the most comprehensive searchable database for GIs: GIview, which will soon include craft and industrial products.
