Seminar ‘’Denominations of Origin and Geographical Indications Mexico-European Union‘’

The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), the international authority for the registration of geographical indications, successfully organised the ‘Seminar on Geographical Indications’ on December 3 in Mexico City.

The event was attended by more than 100 in-person guests, including officials from the economic development ministries of various Mexican states, public officials, producers, artisans, representatives of regulatory councils and marketers, among others, as well as 300 people connected online.

EUIPO, in cooperation with the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property (IMPI), organised this seminar in the context of the IP Key Latin America project, building on its years of cooperation with the European Commission (DG AGRI) and its role in promoting the protection and valorisation of GIs.

This event highlights EUIPO's commitment to support the development of the GI system in Latin America, for the benefit of users and the business community.
